Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Todd is the visionary behind ShiftMed and our affiliate company, Homecare.com. He has spent the past decade finding new ways to solve healthcare staffing challenges via technology-driven workforce management solutions. His work addresses staffing shortages in healthcare, promotes work-life balance for nurses, and enhances patient care. Previously, Todd spent 20 years in leadership roles within the digital media and interactive marketing space. He founded and grew two start-up companies, SeniorLiving.net and LEADS.com, before their acquisitions by RealPage, Inc. and AOL, respectively. He has a BS in Business Administration from Bucknell University and an MBA from Duke University s Fuqua School of Business.
Jacob Laufer
Chief Operating Officer
Jacob, a founding member of ShiftMed, is instrumental in steering the company s growth and success. He has over a decade of experience driving innovation and digital transformation in the industry. Before ShiftMed, he excelled as a product manager at Snagajob, a leading hourly job marketplace. He played a pivotal role in expanding the platform to over 100 million job candidates and empowering more than 300,000 employers to meet their hourly workforce needs. Jacob's achievements have earned him recognition as a "40 Under 40" honoree by Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA). His impactful work in the staffing and workforce management sectors has been featured in multiple publications. He holds a BBA in Accounting from Radford University.
Guljit Khuran
Chief Technology Officer
Guljit, a seasoned technology leader, has been driving innovation at ShiftMed since joining as CTO in 2019. He plays a crucial role in leading product and engineering efforts for both ShiftMed and HomeCare.com, pioneering the largest labor delivery marketplace for healthcare professionals. Under their leadership, the platform has leveraged extensive data science, AI, mobile technology, and process automation to revolutionize healthcare staffing. Guljit's impactful work has been recognized across various sectors, from government intelligence agencies to cloud-based services. He holds a BSE in Electrical Engineering from the University of Iowa and an MBA from St. Ambrose University, combining technical expertise with business acumen to drive ShiftMed's continued growth and success in the healthcare industry.
Boris Zamyatin
Chief Financial Officer
Boris Zamyatin is a seasoned financial leader with a strong track record in financial management, risk management, strategic planning, and organizational efficiency. Before ShiftMed, he served as Vice President of Finance at Piper Companies, Director of Finance for Global FP&A at Discovery Inc., and Chief Financial Officer at Cadasta Foundation. Boris has positioned several companies for sale throughout his career and completed over 10 M&A acquisitions, joint ventures, and merger transactions. He holds an MBA in Management and Finance and a BS in Finance and General Business from the University of Maryland.
Susan Overton
General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer
Susan is pivotal in ensuring ShiftMed's operations align with legal and regulatory requirements while upholding the highest ethical standards. She provides strategic legal counsel on complex issues such as contract law, mergers, and acquisitions while also ensuring full regulatory adherence and ethical integrity across all operations. Before ShiftMed, she spent 13 years at Genesis, where she rose through the ranks from Vice President, Deputy General Counsel Risk and Litigation to Senior Vice President, General Counsel. Her tenure at Genesis was marked by her ability to navigate complex legal challenges and drive strategic initiatives, solidifying her reputation as a trusted leader.

Larry has made significant contributions within the healthcare industry as a nurse and leader. At ShiftMed, he applies his decades of experience and multifaceted perspective to drive company growth and foster innovations in labor management. Before ShiftMed, Larry was the Division Vice President of Crisis Staffing and Labor Disruption at AMN Healthcare. His strategic insights and expertise in navigating complex staffing challenges were instrumental in bringing innovative solutions to healthcare providers nationwide. Having also worked as a travel nurse, Larry knows firsthand the challenges healthcare professionals face on the front lines of care insight that helps
History in the Making
Inspired by the challenge of finding care for an elderly family member, Todd Walrath founded SeniorLiving.net in 2008 to help families secure affordable senior housing.
After RealPage, Inc. acquired SeniorLiving.net in 2011, Todd continued his healthcare journey by launching HomeCare.com in 2014 to connect families with local in-home care providers. Building on this success, he established ShiftMed in 2018 to link long-term care facilities with a network of local, credentialed CNAs seeking per diem work.
Since then, ShiftMed has expanded its network to include allied health professionals, LPNs, and RNs, securing partnerships with leading hospitals and health systems. Today, ShiftMed is a trusted provider of workforce management solutions, delivering efficient and scalable staffing for both post-acute and acute healthcare settings.
